- MD degree from Hanoi University of Medicine (1995) 
- Engineer degree of Computer Science from Faculty of Information Technology - Hanoi University of Technology (1999). 
- Worked at Community Health Research Unit - Hanoi University of Medicine from 1995 to 1996.
- Joined the faculty member of Hanoi School of Public Health since 1996.
- Started Interdisciplinary program at Tulane in 1998, owned MS degree in 2000, and finished PhD program in 2002.
