Kady Weingart was the Assistant Director of the Payson Center for International Development until January of 2015. She is now the Assistant Director for Special Projects and Operations, at Emory University Research Administration Services. She has over 15 years of research administration experience (pre award and post award, program development and management experience with an international development focus.

In December 2014, Corey completed his MS in International Development at Payson focusing on urban disaster management. Corey holds a Bachelors degree in Communications and Global Studies from California Baptist University.

Corey has worked with the American Red Cross since 2006, starting out in his native Los Angeles but has recently joined National Headquarters as the Director of Recovery Services. In this role he is responsible for leading program development of the Recovery Services program and serves on FEMA’s Recovery Support Function Leadership Group.

Dr. Nancy Mock has over 30 years experience in the Humanitarian, Food Security and Public Health fields.  She is a co-founding member of the Tulane Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy, an Associate Professor in International Health and International Development as well as past Interim Executive Director for the Newcomb College Center for Research on Women at Tulane University.  Dr. Mock brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the new program.

Originally from New Braunfels, Texas, Amy Biedermann moved to New Orleans in 2011 to pursue her Master’s degree at Tulane Law School’s Payson Center for International Development where her work and research focused on poverty, inequality, and health policy in East and Central Africa.

Gloria Toro possesses extensive knowledge and experience in Information Technology (IT) for development with applications in education, health and organizations. Dr. Toro has designed and implemented digital libraries, databases and computer-based training materials in a broad spectra of areas which include HIV/AIDS and Emergency Management. Internationally well traveled, Gloria Toro has participated in ICT and community development projects, teaching and training in South America and Africa.

Dr. S. T. Hsieh is the Founding Director of the US/China Energy and Environmental Technology Center (EETC) at the Payson Center, and the Pacific Rim Center at Tulane University. Through the EETC, officially established in 1997, Dr. Hsieh facilitates a forum of information exchanges on energy and environmental technologies between governments, international organizations and the community enabling identification and propagation of opportunities for US-Chinese business ventures. Dr.
