As of July 1, 2015, Dr. Julie Hernandez will become a Research Assistant Professor at the Global Health Systems and Development Department  at Tulane’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. In that capacity, Julie will be working primarily on family planning projects, mostly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In addition, she will be doing some teaching for SPHTM, including, possibly, her GIS classes. Julie will also continue to work with her Payson PhD students.

While Julie will be very much missed here at the Payson Center, I know I speak for everyone when I say that I am absolutely delighted that she was able to find a new position that aligns with her long-term research interests, and to do so here at Tulane, where she will continue to be a part of the international development community. I personally am deeply grateful to Dr. Hernandez for the intelligence and enthusiasm she has brought to her work here – and I know this is true for the rest of you as well.

Bonne chance, Dr. Hernandez!
