Every Summer, the Payson Center for International Development offers intensive, two (2) to three (3) week long programs with one (1) to two (2) courses per location. Courses are open to graduate students and non-Tulane graduate level-students. All courses earn three (3) credits. The cost is $4,100 for one course or $7,500 for two. (Note: Price does not include airfare).

This year, the Payson Center for International Development is pleased to offer courses in five (5) locations as part of the 2013 Global Development Summer Institute:

  • Brazil
  • Nepal
  • Rwanda (cancelled)
  • Uganda (cancelled)
  • Thailand

We are also offering two independent study field research opportunities concentrating on:

  • Ethnic Conflict in Sri Lanka
  • Urban Development in Shaghai, China

The application process is now open. Students are encouraged to apply early since courses do sell out. The application deadline for Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand courses has been extended to April 15.
