I spent six years in the United States military, including a combat deployment to Iraq. My military and educational background have prepared me for a career in international development. After extensive travel through multiple countries, I decided to pursue a path towards reconstruction, sustainability, and policy change specifically in conflict environments. My primary goal is to bridge the gap between civilian aid organizations  and military personnel when working in conflict zones or areas affected by natural disaster.

While at Payson, I focused on international trade and development as well as the relationship between global security situations and their impact on local, regional and national development.

I currently manage a physical security team for a Fortune 500 company in Seattle, Washington where I lives with my wife Talia and our dog Karma.

Talia and I are exploring opportunities to create our own rural health clinic/development organization somewhere in Latin America, most likely Nicaragua. So in 20 years, I would like to have a self-sustaining organization providing care and education to rural impoverished people in Latin America.

Wisdom and Shout Outs: If you have the ability, take one of the Global Development Summer Institute course. In 2013, I took both courses in Nepal taught by Dr. Elke de Buhr and it was an amazing experience. Also, don’t be in a hurry to settle down somewhere. Get out there and TRAVEL! There is so much to see and not enough time!
