Meredith Bambrick, Tulane Payson Center for International Development LLM in Law & Development

Meredith Clare Bambrick, Esq. is a graduate of Tulane University Law School where she earned a J.D. and certificate in international and comparative law (2013) as well as an LLM in Development (2014), the latter for which she was awarded a full tuition scholarship. At Tulane she was a student attorney in the juvenile law clinic, managing editor for the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law, teaching assistant for the International Development 101 course, and research assistant at the Public Law Center, which sponsors the annual International Legislative Drafting Institute in New Orleans. A Baltimore native, Meredith previously studied at Notre Dame Preparatory School (2001) and earned a B.A. in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College (2005). She served as a youth development Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco (2005-2007) and then worked for Chemonics International, first in the DC office as a project associate and then in the field as operations manager in Northern Afghanistan (USAID Accelerating Sustainable Agriculture Program Mazar Foods Initiative, 2009) and as Special Activities Fund manager in Nigeria (USAID Maximizing Agricultural Revenues and Key Enterprise Target Sites, 2009-2010) with additional short-term assignments in Egypt, Morocco, Ethiopia, and southern Afghanistan. Since attending law school, Meredith has interned with the legal office of the Northern Land Council in Darwin, Australia and completed a summer fellowship on a State Department INL-funded security sector reform program in northern Liberia implemented by Tetra Tech DPK. As an independent consultant since graduation, she has worked for various USAID contracting firms (2014-2016) including Chemonics International (Thailand, Nigeria, Liberia), Plan International USA (Washington DC, Kenya), Management Systems International (Arlington, VA), and Development Alternatives Inc (Haiti). She relocated to Washington DC in 2016 to join Plan International USA as the Compliance, Operations & Awards Manager. She is licensed to practice law in Minnesota (2016) and the District of Columbia (2017).

Meredith is presently the Director of Grants & Contracts at Pathfinder International, a global NGO that focuses on reproductive health, family planning, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, maternal health, and safe abortion.

Meredith's collaboration with Payson Center's professor, Dr. Nanette Svenson in June 2014 at The Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) Annual Meeting in Istanbul, Turkey was featured in a Tulane Law School News article.
