Great Decisions: Feeding the Dragon – China in Africa
MONDAY, October 21 (Note date change.)
6 pm Coffee / Networking / Optional Dinner
Program Begins at 6:15 pm
Tulane Hillel, 912 Broadway St.
Free!
The Great Decisions series continues with the subject of China’s engagement in Africa. Join us to discuss what factors motivate Chinese involvement in Africa. Should growing political ties and resource extraction in Africa be a source of concern for the United States?

Grab a cup of coffee from the downstairs refreshment area (cash donations only), then join other attendees in the Hillel Kitchen for a brief networking session. (Dinner may be ordered during this time if you wish to eat.) At 6:15 pm, Dr. Chris Fettweis, Associate Professor of Political Science at Tulane University and former lecturer at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, will lead an in-depth discussion.

Hillel House has a small parking lot in the back that attendees are welcome to use. In addition, plenty of free parking is available on the surrounding streets after 6 pm.

Great Decisions is a free program, open to the public, which centers around topics chosen by the Foreign Policy Association (FPA) as top priorities. Participants are encouraged to prepare for the discussions by reading about the topics in the FPA’s publication Great Decisions, which is sold at discussions. For advance purchase or  more info, email info@wacno.org.
