International Development is a naturally complex field. The study of ID entails understanding the problems of underdevelopment including the initiatives, processes, and approaches offered as solutions.. Working in ID, however, requires not only understanding the problems of underdevelopment but being able to implement successful programs aimed at improving sustainable human development. To this end the goal of this Ph.D. program is to promote theoretical knowledge and practical skills transfer through interdisciplinary instruction and research. The specific objectives are:
