Objective:

The project is intended to compliment an ongoing USAID-funded project entitled the Leadership Initiative for Public Health in East Africa (LIPHEA). The overall goal is to more effectively network the seven LIPHEA alliance institutions.  The primary objective is the establishment of a network node at the Makerere University School of Public Health in Uganda and to transfer ownership, management and maintenance of the LIPHEA Knowledge Center and Online Courses to E. Africa to the School.  In addition to  these web technology transfer activities, Payson Center is conducting an ICT assessment to identify barriers to connectivity among the wider network of alliance members and is working with the alliance to formalize a web publishing team and process, and to more effectively utilize web technology for teaching, communicating and sharing knowledge.
