In the past half century, the world oil market has undergone a number of fundamental changes, some subtle and continuous, others rapid and tumultuous.  These changes have been closely tied to the realization of global prosperity over this period.  Arguably, we are in the midst of another fundamental shift in world oil markets no less significant than any of the changes experienced to date.  New oil supplies required to support expected economic growth worldwide will require an unprecedented level of global oil development, accompanied by massive shifts in global trade and investment patterns over the next two decades.  This seminar examines these requirements, their implications for global oil markets, and the issues that these prospects raise for policy in both the producing and consuming countries.
