Stephanie Manciagli began her two-year Master's of International Development program at Tulane in Payson's Panama Field Work Experience. She opted to stay in Panama for two semesters and has worked throughout at the United Nations Development Programme's Regional Center for Latin America and the Caribbean, primarily focusing on UN environmental work in the region.

Payson Panama Students Explore the Interior

Payson Panama Field Work Experience students (Stephanie Manciagli, Rummanul Ferdous and Sheriff Kora) started their program at the UN Regional Center for Latin America and the Caribbean at the end of August 2014 and have been extremely busy ever since with a range of assignments from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).  On a recent holiday weekend, they took advantage of their time off to go explore some of the interior of the country.

President Fitts Visits Panama

The Republic of Panama was honored last week to receive Tulane University President Michael Fitts on his first international trip since assuming office. Panama is home to a large Tulane alumni base as well as two permanent Tulane graduate school programs (with the Payson Center and the Freeman School of Business). It also shares a number of historical and cultural similarities with New Orleans so was a natural destination for kicking off the President's international relations efforts.

Every Summer since 2001, the Payson Center for International Development offers intensive, two (2) to three (3) week long study-abroad programs with one (1),  two (2) or three (3) courses per location. Courses are open to graduate students and non-Tulane graduate level-students. All courses earn three (3) credits. The cost varies based on location and number of courses taken in one location. (Note: Price does not include airfare).
