Hilary Nicole Zainab Ervin is a Management Analyst with the HIV/AIDS Bureau at the Department of Health and Human Resources (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  She currently serves as a Board of Director and Operational Coordinator for the Standby Task Force where she provides crisis informatics and mapping services to organizations such as UNOCHA, MSF, NetHope and others responding to complex humanitarian emergencies.

Dr. Alexander Coles is a Full Professor of Geography and Environmental Science at Florida State University, Panama Canal Campus. He is a Land Use and GIS Specialist. Before joining the FSU-Panama, he taught Geography-related seminars and courses at the Departments of Geography and Global Health at the University of South Florida (USF).

Nathan Morrow

Nathan Morrow has nearly 20 years of international research and work experience with issues of food security, child wellbeing and humanitarian response. He began giving courses at the Payson Center in 2006 and has taught a number of classes over the years for the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a regular food security studies Global Development Summer Institute in Italy. He is the primary author and principal investigator for the forthcoming United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s Handbook for Emergency Preparedness and Response.

Laura Murphy is clinical associate professor in the Department of Global Health Systems and Development at Tulane’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (SPHTM). In 2011, Dr. Murphy was appointed “Carnegie Corporation of New York Professor of Social Entrepreneurship” in the first class of Social Entrepreneurship Professors at Tulane University.

Gloria Toro possesses extensive knowledge and experience in Information Technology (IT) for development with applications in education, health and organizations. Dr. Toro has designed and implemented digital libraries, databases and computer-based training materials in a broad spectra of areas which include HIV/AIDS and Emergency Management. Internationally well traveled, Gloria Toro has participated in ICT and community development projects, teaching and training in South America and Africa.
